Live video support is available every school day from 4pm.
Members can ask questions about Leaving Cert Maths and receive real-time answers live on Google Meet!
Note: Teacher Live! is for members only!
1) Students can request a Google Meet link every school day from 4pm to 5pm using the Teacher Chat window shown in the bottom right.
2) As long as this request was made by a logged in student with an active membership, that student will then receive a link which can they click to join an instant video call with our teacher, Dr. Ciarán Kenny, head of exams.ie.
3) The student can then ask their question(s) using their microphone (or by typing a message if they prefer). Mr. Kenny will then respond with an explanation using his digital whiteboard, nice!
How does this differ from a one-to-one grind?
The main difference is time. In order to be fair to all students, the question(s) posed should not take more than roughly five minutes to explain.
The primary purpose of this feature is therefore to give students the ability to “raise their hand” to ask a teacher a question, even when studying they’re at home!
In contrast, if a student is instead having difficulty with a topic as a whole, we suggest booking one of our one-to-one grinds.
Do I need to have my camera on?
Not at all, only your microphone!
And if you don’t feel comfortable with your microphone on, you can also simply type your question in the chat window that will also appear after clicking the link.
Do I need to install anything to join the video call?
Our live video support takes place on Google Meet.
If the student is using a computer, there is nothing to do as the link that we provide will open in a browser.
If the student is instead using a tablet or smartphone, we recommend installing the Google Meet app for that device in advance [Android] [iOS].
