Terms and Conditions

The following are the terms and conditions related to the use of the web pages located at https://lcmaths.ie/.

Visitors who use this website, including those who purchase an individual membership, a school licence or are members through a school licence (herein referred to collectively as members), are acknowledging that they have read, understand and agree to follow what is stated below.

Membership

A visitor must accurately complete the full membership checkout process in order to use the membership-only content of this website.

When purchasing a membership, a visitor agrees to be charged the amount shown at checkout. Such a payment grants that visitor permission to access all of the licenced material on this website, thereby becoming a member, until the expiration date stated therein.

A refund can be requested, no questions asked, within 24 hours of a membership purchase. Any requests for a refund beyond this time is at the discretion of L.C. Maths and may be declined.

Each member is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account password and agree to notify L.C. Maths of any unauthorised use of their account. In the event that someone else uses a member’s account, that member may be held liable for losses incurred by L.C. Maths. L.C. Maths will not be liable for any loss that a member may incur as a result of someone else using their account or password, either with or without their knowledge.

Use of a membership by more than one individual is considered a violation of these Terms and Conditions. L.C. Maths reserves the right to terminate that account and access to the L.C. Maths content without any notice or refund.

Active teachers are forbidden from purchasing an individual student membership for their own personal use. The use of such a membership by a teacher is considered a violation of these Terms and Conditions. L.C. Maths reserves the right to terminate that account and access to the L.C. Maths content without any notice or refund. Legal action may also be taken due to a loss of revenue. Teachers who wish to make use of this website are instead requested to do so with the purchase of a school licence, the terms and conditions of which are outlined below.

Any visitor under the age of 16 who wishes to obtain a membership on L.C. Maths must have first been granted permission by a parent or guardian to obtain said membership.

Content

All content provided on this website, including text, illustrations, animations and videos, are considered the sole property of L.C. Maths. The download of such content for offline use, commercial purposes or personal gain, without prior permission, is considered a violation of these Terms and Conditions. L.C. Maths reserves the right to terminate that account and access to the L.C. Maths content without any notice or refund. L.C. Maths also retains the right to sue on the grounds of a breach of copyright.

Any attempt to access membership-only content without a membership is also considered a violation of these Terms and Conditions and may also result in legal action.

The content of the lessons are based on the official curriculum of the State Examination Commission (SEC). L.C. Maths takes no responsibility if exam questions outside of this curriculum appear in any official examination.

The content of the lessons that are labelled as Higher Level only are stated as such based on the corresponding labelling within the official curriculum of the SEC. L.C. Maths takes no responsibility if what we have stated as Higher Level only content appears in an Ordinary Level examination.

Teacher Chat

The Teacher Chat feature of this website is to be used only to request help and guidance with material on this website or other material relating to Leaving Certificate Mathematics.

Any member that consistently requests answers to questions not related to the subject of Leaving Certificate Mathematics may have their account terminated and their access to the L.C. Maths content removed without any notice or refund.

Teacher Chat is not to be used to request Mr. Kenny to do a student’s homework for them. Members who consistently make such requests may have their account terminated and their access to the L.C. Maths content removed without any notice or refund.

All members are requested not to use vulgar or obscene language when using the Teacher Chat feature. Likewise, the attachments of any files not related to mathematics, particularly those of a graphic or sexual nature, are considered a violation of these Terms and Conditions. L.C. Maths reserves the right to terminate such accounts and access to the L.C. Maths content without any notice or refund.

The attachment of a third party file is only permitted if the transfer of that content is allowed according to the Terms and Conditions of that third party. L.C. Maths takes no responsibility if a member violates the policy of a third party by attaching copyright-protected files.

Grinds

Payment for one of our grinds is made in advance of said grind. If a student is unable to attend that grind, a full refund will be issued as long as notice is given before the start of the grind. Likewise, if a suitable time cannot be agreed upon for that grind, a full refund is also issued.

During a grind, a student is expected to behave in a similar manner to that outlined by the “Code of Behaviour” of their school. If a student instead behaves in a manner that we believe is reducing the overall effectiveness of that grind, we reserve the right to terminate that grind without the possibility of a refund.

School Licence

When purchasing a school licence, the school agrees to be charged the amount that was agreed upon. A refund can be requested, no questions asked, within 24 hours of a school licence purchase. Any requests for a refund beyond this time is at the discretion of L.C. Maths and may be declined.

A school licence grants permission for the agreed upon number of teacher and student accounts to be created and used at that school. If any teacher wishes to use L.C. Maths at more than one school, a distinct school licence must be purchased for each school. The distribution of accounts obtained from one school licence to multiple schools, or indeed to any individuals not associated with that school, is considered a violation of these Terms and Conditions. L.C. Maths reserves the right to terminate that account and access to the L.C. Maths content without any notice or refund. L.C. Maths also retains the right to sue on the grounds of a breach of contract and a loss of revenue.

Sample Papers

The sample papers that we have provided are for the exclusive use of members of L.C. Maths. They should not be considered official and are in no way affiliated with, nor endorsed by, the SEC.

The content of the sample papers are based upon the official curriculum of the SEC. L.C. Maths takes no responsibility if any questions in any official examination do not resemble those included in these sample papers.

L.C. Maths reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any such amendments become effective immediately after such amendments are made.

A member’s continued use of L.C. Maths following the addition of such amendments constitutes that member’s acceptance of said amendments.
